Professional Development Committee Mission Statement

The Professional Development Committee is a standing committee within the EDEN network and is comprised of interested EDEN delegates. The Chair is elected each year at the EDEN annual meeting and serves for one year but may serve beyond that term if interested and reelected by the committee. The Chair also serves on the EDEN executive committee to represent the function and activities of the committee.

The Professional Development Committee’s purpose is to keep the EDEN network current on educational programs, relevant legislation, and activities or developments related to all phases of emergency management, especially as they apply to the knowledge and critical information needed to be an effective delegate within the network. This information includes monitoring allied associations and groups as they develop key programs, informing delegates of important information, developments or trends and evaluating opportunities for professional growth of the EDEN network or individual delegates. The committee also supports and develops additional educational opportunities to be offered at the annual meeting.
